Stress, Anxiety and Insomnia

We live in a fast-paced, ever-changing  world where everyone is trying to manage a whole host of stresses and pressures. Often, these life stresses can cause adverse effects for one’s health, ranging from simple issues such as headaches and shoulder tension to more severe issues such as poor digestive health, insomnia, anxiety and other mental and emotional health issues.

Acupuncture is widely used by many as a means to manage their stress and anxiety. Many research studies have recently shown that Acupuncture is effective in reducing the production of stress hormones. Because the effects of stress and anxiety presents differently from person to person, we aim to treat it in a holistic and individualised manner. Chinese Medicine is a holistic therapy, that is, it looks at your body as a whole, not just as isolated systems. By treating you holistically, we aim to re-balance your system and help identify and advise you on the factors leading to your stress and how to better manage it.

Insomnia is a common problem for many and can manifest as difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or both. Chinese herbal medicine and Acupuncture are often used together to help people with their sleep issues. To successfully treat insomnia, we must first deduce the cause of your sleeplessness, whether that be stress & anxiety related, pain, breathing issues or various other factors like shift-work. By treating and addressing the factors that lead to insomnia, we hope to help you gain regular good nights of sleep.
